Amy Schumer had just aired a bit on the pride-crushing, body-shaming experience of shopping for women’s clothes (Size 12) when Quartz published a story saying, “There’s plenty of open disdain for the term ‘plus’ and its implication that human bodies should be sorted into the categories of ‘normal’ and not.'” ModCloth is one of few retailers credited by Quartz with not treating women sized 16 or larger as abnormal. The irony is that an average American woman is more likely to be a 16 than a size 2 but still has to shop outside designers’ core lines.

Boards

“Boards that are too culturally homogenous can wind up with blind spots and miss important cues about market trends or internal problems,” said Forbes last year. McKinsey has also made the connection between top-team diversity and the bottom line. Yet, the 2016 Heidrick & Struggles Board Monitor report highlights a distinct leaning toward homogeneity in Fortune 500 companies. Hispanics in particular are underrepresented in the boardroom, occupying only 14 of 399 (4%) new directorships.

Saltwater Brewery is making fully biodegradable, completely digestible six-pack rings for beer cans. Frat boys shouldn’t get too stoked about the free snack but conservationists should be thrilled to see plastic holders — notorious for strangling sea life — turned quite literally into fish food. The holders are made from byproducts of the brewing process like wheat and barley.

We’re not saying beer will save the planet. We’re just saying we’ll do our part. Check this vid.
